See trending photos of President Mahama in military uniform that is stirring controversy...
The President and the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, today donned the military attire at a military durbar at Burma Camp in Accra to commission the Naval headquarters.
And already, there have mixed reactions from Ghanaians.
Whilst some think it is cool for the President to wear the Military Uniform as the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ghana, others think otherwise and have even raised the legality about it with respect to section 1 of NLCD 177 which states:
"No person shall wear or use any military uniform, equipment, accoutrements or other material unless he is a member of the Armed Forces of Ghana wearing or using the uniform, equipment, accoutrements or material which he is authorised to wear or use."
For the record, Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, former President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, and President Uhuru Kenyatta have all donned the military uniform as civilian leaders.
Well, the ball is in your court now: do you think it was cool or not for the President to have worn the military Uniform? See the photos below.
