Sad News: Highlife legend Paapa Yankson is dead...

Credible information reaching Bigtimerz.com indicates that one of Ghana’s Highlife legends, Paapa Yankson has kicked the bucket.

The death of the Highlife musician is said to have occurred this Friday in the morning.at his base in Dansoman, Accra.

The 73-year-old musician before his death had not been well and had been wheel chair bound.

The "Show Your Love" hit-maker was last honoured at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Born Benjamin Paapa Kofi Yankson on June 22, 1944, at Winneba, the highlife legend has 15 albums to his credit.

His hit songs included Wiase Mu Nsem, Show Your Love, Wo Yere Anaa Wo Maame, and Tena Menkyen.

He was also instrumental in the projection of music bands into critical national acclaim; the Western Diamond Band, The Gold Nuggets Band and the Carousel Seven Band.

He lectured and performed in many countries around the world including the US, Canada, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Holland, Nigeria, Benin and the Ivory Coast.
