Appiah Stadium granted bail after his arrest for insulting Nana Akufo-Addo as a 'wee smoker'...
National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist Appiah Stadium has been granted bail barely 24 hours after being arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
Born Frank Kwaku Appiah, the NDC serial caller was arrested Tuesday morning in Kumasi for calling President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo names in an audio that has gone viral on social media.
The arrest was at the instance of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, according to the Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Command, ASP Juliana Obeng.
He was thus brought to the headquarters of the Service.
But to ensure that their party member is not kept behind bars overnight, some leading members of the NDC have secured bail for Appiah Stadium.
Among the members are former Akwatia MP Baba Jamal, former Nantong MP Murtala Mohammed, Kojo Twum Boafo and Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare.
Appiah Stadium is reported to have apologised to the president.
