Nana Addo has failed Ghanaians, intellectuals cowards & rulers are corrupt – founding member of NPP...
A founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Joshua Attoh-Quarshie, has lashed out at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stating he has failed Ghanaians even before the end of his four-year mandate.
He claimed acts of corruption and injustices among others which were perpetuated under past administrations are being repeated under Akufo-Addo, something he said has left him [Atto-Quarshie] “greatly” disappointed.
“As for Nana, I don’t want to make any comment about him because he has failed the nation. What other past governments did that he is supposed to correct it, he has not done it and his family members, friends and supporters are there watching him,” he told TV3 Thursday.
Mr Attoh-Quarshie who has been critical of President Akufo-Addo even before he became the president, was speaking to host of TV3’s New Day magazine show, Johnnie Hughes, on various issues, including the six-month of the Akufo-Addo administration.
He said President Akufo-Addo has styled himself as a human rights activist yet that is not reflecting in his governance, saying “what is happening in the country is the opposite.
“His doings will show whether truly he is a human rights [activist], communist or dictator human right”, he said.
Mr Attoh-Quarshie also accused the clergy and traditional authorities of being cowards because he claimed they have failed to pinpoint the mistakes of the government to Akufo-Addo.
“Ghanaians are dishonest people. The clergy, the judiciary, the chiefs, they are all dishonest people because they have seen what the predecessors have done wrong and instead of them to point them out to Akufo-Addo, they have failed to do so.”
He added: “The historians in this country are cowards. The intellectuals in this country are cowards. The native rulers are the most corrupt and useless”. He explained that they are corrupt “because they have failed to speak the truth in the country.”
