Stop the 'plenty' talk and take action now – A Plus tells Prez Akufo-Addo

Musician and known sympathizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Asare Obeng otherwise known as A-Plus wants President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to take action and lessen his public commentary regarding what he was voted for to execute.

According to him, Ghanaians reposed much confidence in the President because they trusted he could deliver and therefore has no excuse to fail in that respect.

He reminded the President of his promise to create a better Ghana for citizens and the generations unborn observing that actions of some of his appointees makes this promise unachievable citing recent issues from the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives as an example.

“You promised to create a better Ghana for all of us including the unborn. Ghanaians love you. Yes most of us do. That is why a majority of Ghanaians voted for you. Some of them left their lucrative jobs to campaign for you.

"That is why some travelled miles on bicycles, by foot and in rickety vehicles just to cast their vote for you. It’s no more “too early.” The days of “It’s too early” is dead and gone. We want action now!!

“Your speeches, especially the one you gave at the last Trade Fair rally and promises you made during the campaign lifted hearts in dark times. You gave us hope in times of despair.

"You promised to refined the characters of men and women of this country. You inspired brave feats and gave courage to weary people like me,” he said

In his view, the excuse of it is too early are over as he has enjoyed enough honeymoon and must be taking concrete action on certain things to revitalize the confidence of Ghanaians in his administration.

He also proposed that the budget estimates of other Ministries be subjected to scrutiny to ensure that there is value for money in all of them.

“It is very important to recall every ministry’s budget to; 1 Check how much was spent on preparing the budget. 2. How much will be spent on monitoring the performance of the budget 3. How much will be spent on rent 4. How much will be spent on cars….. 5. How much will be spent on a website 6. How much will be spent on research.”
