Presidential Commission summons Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, others again...
The Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Ghana's World Cup campaign looks set to get even more interesting in the coming days with a line-up of prominent witnesses who are due to make an appearance next week.
Before the commission rounds off its activities and submits its report on November 14, the three-man fact-finding body will re-invite some target witnesses from Tuesday, following fresh evidence they have received in the past few days.
According to Daily Graphic's sources, witnesses who are to reappear include the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the GFA General Secretary, Emmanuel Gyimah and GFA Executive Committee member, George Afriyie. Others invited to testify include the World Cup campaign's Project Co-ordinator, Fred Darko, and travel and tour agents, Sampson Deen and Ivan Bruce Cudjoe.
Also expected to testify next week is the Director of Communications of GFA, Ibrahim Sannie Daara and two Black Stars Management Committee members, Yaw Boateng Gyan and Kwame Ofosu-Bamfo, known in football circles as Sikkens.
The sources revealed that the reappearance of some of the target witnesses has to do with the list of beneficiaries of the management appearance fee submitted to the commission by the GFA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Opening Tuesday's proceedings are three home-based Black Stars players - Stephen Adams, Fatau Dauda and Rashid Sumaila.
The commission, perhaps, decided to fall on the local players after the foreign-based players failed to honour its invitation last week.
As part of its itinerary, the three commission members embarked on a regional tour of Kumasi last Wednesday and Thursday to interact with the local media and some citizens.
